There are two important intentions in this project in terms of assisting residents to create a sustainable community.  Firstly, house design guidelines will promote home designs that are five star rated, mostly earth or timber, collect rainwater, use passive and active solar design and earth friendly components and materials.

Secondly, the power of local community to work together to create sustainable outcomes including fostering local trade, growing food, friends close to home and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by vastly reducing the need for a transport based lifestyle.
